The Arthurs Seat Eagle is Mornington Peninsula's newest attraction. Board a state-of-the-art gondola at the Arthurs Seat Eagle and fly over the state forest to the highest point of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
You will be torn between looking at the breathtaking view across the bay to the city and spotting wildlife as you soar high above the trees. Either way you have a bird’s eye view!

Arthurs Seat Eagle

The Arthurs Seat Eagle is Mornington Peninsula's newest attraction.

The ride lets you enjoy an Eagle's view in the safety and comfort of a gondola cabin.
We do not accept timed bookings - just turn up and jump aboard!
Each journey takes approximately 14 minutes one way.

While you are visiting us, make sure you leave time to grab a snack or enjoy a meal in the Eagle Café, or stretch your legs on one of the many walking tracks through the Arthurs Seat State Park.


The Eagle Café
The Eagle Cafe is located at the Summit Station.
Enjoy a meal with a view, our huge deck lets you enjoy views of the Peninsula as you dine outdoors or sit inside the beautifully appointed cafe and take in the view through the large windows.

Delicious food is our specialty with pies, sandwiches, salads and wraps, and a decadent range of ice creams and sweet treats for the whole family. A range of healthy and hearty food is available as well as some fantastic gluten free and vegetarian options.

There is also a kiosk for hot and cold drinks and snacks at the Base Station.

The Café has seating indoors and on the deck, or you can purchase your choices to take away and choose your own perfect spot!

The Eagle Café is open for service from 10:00am every day.

Tickets purchased can be used on any day of your stay, here with us on the Mornington Peninsula.
There are no lock in days or times when purchasing your tickets, simply turn up to Eagle when it suits you!

Free parking is available at both Arthurs Seat Eagle Summit and Base Stations.

The Eagle is open seven days a week.

Winter Season: 31st March - 22nd September
The Eagle is open seven days a week from 10am–5:00pm.
The last Gondola departure time is at 4:30pm.


Spring Season: 23rd September - 20 December
The Eagle is open seven days a week from 10am.
Sunday – Thursday 10am-6pm. The last Gondola departure time is at 5:30pm.
Friday & Saturday 10am-8pm. The last Gondola departure time is at 7:30pm.


Summer Season: 21st December - 26th February
The Eagle is open seven days a week from 10am–8pm.
The last Gondola departure time is at 7:30pm.


Autumn Season: 27th February - 30th March
The Eagle is open seven days a week from 10am
Sunday – Thursday 10am-6pm. The last Gondola departure time is at 5:30pm.
Friday & Saturday 10am-8pm. The last Gondola departure time is at 7:30pm.

Q: What can I expect?
The summit is 314m high providing exceptional views over Port Phillip Bay across to Melbourne City. Your gondola will travel over a state forest allowing for sighting some of the spectacular plant and animal life.


Q: How long does the Eagle experience take?
The Eagle takes approximately 14 minutes for each direction of the journey.


Q: Is Smoking permitted in the gondolas or in the Eagle Stations?
As the Eagle is located in a State Park smoking is not permitted. Smoking is not allowed in the Gondolas or anywhere within the Eagle buildings or outdoor areas.


Q: What items are not permitted in the gondolas?
Animals (with the exception of assistance dogs), rollerblades, bikes, scooters and skateboards also large backpacks and suitcases are not allowed. Smoking is not permitted in the Gondolas (or anywhere in the Eagle site).
Food and drinks are also not permitted (with the exception of bottled water).


Q: Can you guarantee our group will be in the same gondola?
The Eagle will not always be able to guarantee your entire group can travel together.
Each gondola holds up to eight people.


Q: What food and beverage facilities are available?
Join us for lunch or grab a snack at the Eagle Café located at the Summit Station.

Q: What facilities does the Eagle offer for disabled visitors?
The fully enclosed 8 seat gondolas allow people of all abilities to take in the spectacular views over Port Phillip Bay and the Mornington Peninsula from Arthurs Seat.

Accessibility Features:

Q: Why are you named after an Eagle?
We are named after the Wedge-tailed Eagle and just like the ‘Wedgie’, we are one of the most impressive sights in the Peninsula sky.


Q: Does bad weather affect the Eagle?
A combination of enclosed and open cabins will provide an all weather experience for passengers.
The Eagle may close if wind levels reach extremely high levels.


Q: Are pets allowed at the Eagle
No. As we are located within a State Park only assistance animals are permitted.

Payment Details
A 25% deposit is required to confirm booking.

The final payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival date.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations or changes to numbers not given with 30 days notice will be held accountable for the total cost.

Terms and Conditions

Both parts of return journeys must take place on the same day.

All prices, attractions, special events and trading times are subject to change or cancellation without notification.

No refunds or rain checks will be issued.

Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.

The Eagle may temporarily close for refurbishment, technical reasons or extreme weather.

Report any lost items or return any found items to the Ticket Box.

Report any lost children to the Ticket Box.

Tickets are nonrefundable.

Skateboarding or similar activities are not permitted.

No alcohol or smoking is permitted.

No pets are permitted. Assistance dogs excepted.

Photographs or videos taken by guests are for personal enjoyment only. Any use or reproduction for commercial purposes, without written permission from The Eagle, is strictly prohibited.

Tripods are not allowed in the Eagle premises or gondolas.

By entering the Arthurs Seat Eagle you consent to photographs or video of you being used by the Eagle for promotional purposes.

Children 11 years and under must bet be supervised by a guardian/supervisor 16 years+.
